This is the second of two issues of Anglistica devoted to intersections between musical and cultural studies. It presents reflections on music as a cultural practice with special bearings on the definition of gendered identities and ethnical configurations. As well as hosting some outstanding representatives of cultural musicology, it presents instances of music travelling across borders and providing strategies of resistance, transgression, hybridation and dissent.
