Çağdaş sanatta doğa algısı ve metamorfoz

Abstract

Man is a part of nature, and therefore the theme of nature has been the subject that artists have been influenced by and reflected in their works, from traditional art to today's art. After the Age of Enlightenment and the Industrial Revolution, the lifestyles and thoughts of the society changed, and individualism and free thought structures became effective. These changes have revealed the modern understanding and art productions of the artists. At the beginning of the 20th century, the changes in the field of art with the progress of industrialization and technology also affected the perspectives of artists towards nature. In this context, nature has gained various symbolic elements and metamorphic meanings in the approaches of artists. With the importance of conceptual art in the 1960s, the art object and nature underwent change and transformation. Especially the liberation movements that emerged after the Second World War and environmental awareness were at the forefront. Artists in movements such as painting, Installation, Performance Art, Video Art, Art Povera and Land Art in contemporary art have addressed nature with metaphorical expressions, both in terms of ideas and materials, in order to create environmental and social awareness. In this research, the effects of the perception of nature on the artists and the transformations of the form and material used by the artists over the nature theme in the process until today are discussed. In this study, titled Nature Perception and Metamorphosis in Contemporary Art, it is desired to examine the concept of nature through the examples of artists and works, especially in the changing and metamorphosing processes throughout the history of art.
