Il significato dell’hedera nelle iscrizioni metriche: una proposta per la codifica in EpiDoc

Abstract

Questo contributo intende avanzare una proposta di codifica per i segni di interpunzione che scandiscono il layout di un’iscrizione metrica. I segni grafici avevano un ruolo nella lettura e nell’interpretazione dei testi, e assumevano diversi valori. Ad esempio, nell’epigrafe tardoantica in esametri posta in onore di Tannonius Crhysantius (CIL X 1813), le due hederae distinguentes presenti sembrano dividere il testo in tre parti concettuali, caricandosi di una funzione semantica. Al fine di rendere ricercabile interpunti simili per il valore acquisito – che sia semantico, sintattico o metrico – si analizzano alcune possibili soluzioni di codifica nel linguaggio TEI XML, comune a molti progetti di digitalizzazione delle iscrizioni.
