In this paper the small mammals collected in the sequence of Riparo Salvini (Prov. Latina, Latium, Central Italy) have been studied. They belong to the following fourteen species: one erinaceomorph, Erinaceus europaeus, seven bats, Rhinolophus ferrumequinum, Myotis (Myotis) blythii, Myotis (Leuconöe) capaccinii, Nyctalus noctula, Pipistrellus sp. vel Hypsugo sp., Miniopterus schreibersi, Tadarida teniotis, six rodents, Eliomys quercinus, Arvicola amphibius, Microtus arvalis, Terricola savii, Chionomys nivalis, Apodemus sylvaticus, one lagomorph, Lepus europaeus. The analysis of the percentages of the presence of Minimum Number of Individuals in the different strata indicates the passage from conditions similar to the present ones at the lower part, to cooler and arid conditions in the upper part of the sequence of Riparo Salvini. These data agree with the attribution of the sequence to the latest phases of the Bølling oscillation and the earliest phases of the Older Dryas oscillation.
