Etruschi fuori d'Etruria: Mediterraneo ed Europa centrale

Abstract

Gli episodi di mobilità geografica nel mondo antico sono rivelati da fonti letterarie, testimo-nianze epigrafiche e manufatti significativi, tra i quali gli ornamenti personali occupano un ruolo di rilievo. In un lungo arco di tempo esteso almeno dall’età del Ferro al V sec. a.C. la documentazione complessiva consente di distinguere casi di mobilità geografica di Etruschi fuori della propria regione nella penisola italica, nel bacino del Mediterraneo occidentale e orientale, infine nell’Europa centrale. Piccole comunità e singoli individui si trasferirono fuori d’Etruria specie per motivi di natura economica e commerciale, come insegnano rispettiva-mente i fondaci etruschi stabiliti in numerose località del Mediterraneo occidentale e le dediche effettuate nei santuari greci da personaggi di alto rango sociale, destinate ad accrescere la Selbstdarstellung alla stregua di Greci. La rassegna procede in maniera schematica in sequenza cronologica in relazione agli ambiti geografici menzionati del Mediterraneo, occidentale e orientale, e dell’Europa centrale.
