Abstract

Questa monografia è destinata a offrire al lettore e allo spettatore occidentale la possibilità di conoscere meglio le tradizioni e la spiritualità dell’Europa Orientale, offrendo un viaggio a ritroso nel tempo in compagnia degli artisti girovaghi dell’Antica Russia – mimi, giullari, saltimbanchi di piazza, buffoni di corte, recitatori di fiabe, marionettisti, burattinai – e mettendo in luce analogie e differenze affascinanti con quanto accade ed è accaduto in Occidente. Nel considerare gli innesti che vengono da altre tradizioni e culture, la ricerca mostra con puntualità di riscontri, retrodatando ‘certezze’ cronologiche assestate, gli apporti della Commedia dell’Arte e del teatro italiano di derivazione popolare alla tradizione russa, e documentando una sorprendente storia di incontri.
