Abstract

Nella terza sezione del Roscher und Knies Weber discute la dottrina dell’intuizione esposta da Croce nell’Estetica come scienza dell’espressione e linguistica generale, ma lo fa con l’occhio rivolto al problema dello statuto logico delle scienze storiche. In questa prospettiva Weber imputa alla tesi crociana della “riduzione” della storia sotto il concetto dell’arte una serie di «errori naturalistici», che (nonostante un esplicito richiamo a Husserl) vengono circoscritti ed evidenziati mediante strumenti logici e terminologici che sono prevalentemente tratti dalle Grenzen der naturwissenschaftlichen Begriffsbildung di Rickert. Tuttavia nei grandi saggi metodologici weberiani di inizio novecento il confronto col “primo” Croce non si arresta qui: in un luogo importante della prima parte delle Kritische Studien il filosofo italiano e il suo discepolo tedesco Karl Vossler vengono infatti richiamati come studiosi che hanno il merito di aver posto in luce con energia che «l’analisi di valore» è uno dei due poli indispensabili della Begriffsbildung delle scienze storiche della cultura, ma che hanno nel contempo il demerito di aver misconosciuto, nella sua relativa autonomia, l’altro indispensabile versante di tale polarità: quello del «regresso causale».
