The main aim of the study is to focus on linguistic and legal vagueness in the structure of Directives viewed as normative texts and in the ideology underlying the EU's attitude in granting specific rights to migrants. The research questions are therefore: how and in what direction is the language of Directives under scrutiny accountable for the representation of migrants? How and to what extent are idological implications accountable for vagueness in the Directives? Can power roles operationalised through vagueness?
