Abstract

Miguel Mihura (1905-1977) inició su carrera literaria colaborando en algunas revistas: a partir de 1925 forma parte de la redacción de las llamadas revistas galantes (Muchas gracias, Flirt, Cosquillas y Varieté) y del semanario satírico Buen Humor. En 1927 empieza a trabajar para Gutiérrez, semanario dirigido por el caricaturista K-Hito que se mantuvo a la venta, con buena acogida del público (llegó a tirar en su mejor época 20.000 ejemplares) hasta 1934 (De la Flor 1990: 35). La experiencia en Gutiérrez será fundamental en la formación de nuestro autor: «Yo me hice en Gutiérrez como escritor y como dibujante», declara (Mihura 2004: 1302). De ahí que sea importante prestar un poco de atención a este periodo de la producción de Mihura (nos centraremos en sus colaboraciones periodísticas entre 1927 y 1932), un periodo «poco estudiado y peor valorado» (Mihura 2006: 42) y cuyo estudio es indispensable para entender el desarrollo posterior de la obra del escritor madrileño. A través del análisis de algunas de sus colaboraciones periodísticas de estos años intentaremos entresacar los elementos de eso que se suele identificar con la etiqueta de ‘Humor Nuevo’ para intentar ver en ellas de qué manera y con qué recursos Mihura nos presenta un nuevo modo de concebir la comicidad y el humorismo.
