Abstract

La voce illustra la storia della tradizione manoscritta e illustrativa di uno dei maggiori storici della tradizione latina. Pressoché scomparso nell'alto medioevo, Livio è oggetto di un recupero erudito che matura nell'ambiente di Francesco Petrarca. A quest'ultimo appartenne il manoscritto più prestigioso che ci è pervenuto. Il codice, allestito nel primo Trecento, è uno straordinario esempio della miniatura gotica.
