Modelli digitali 3D in archeologia: il caso di Pompei

Abstract

Il testo restituisceuno studio durato 3 anni per la formazione di una metodologia per l’acquisizione e la restituzione di siti archeologici complessi ai fini della costruzione di sistemi informativi basati su modelli digitali 3D. Lo studio si avvale di una sperimentazione riferita al caso dell’area archeologica di Pompei. Lo studio è frutto di una stretta collaborazione tra Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa, Soprintendenza Speciale per i Beni Archeologici di Napoli e Pompei, Università di Bologna. Passaggi rilevanti del testo riguardano le problematiche di acquisizione dati, il modo della loro produzione in modo uniforme per un sito archeologico su vasta scala come è Pompei e il modo di costruire i modelli ai fini di una loro utilizzazione scalabile sia in termini di dispositivo di visualizzazione che di tipologia del fruitore.
