Faced with Toni Negri’s work, consisting of dozens of books and hundreds of articles written over a period of seventy years, the article provides an outline of his life and work. It focuses in particular on the link between theory and political militancy that characterize Negri's trajectory despite the discontinuities that are also discussed.
