An on-design cycle analysis of the air-turborocket is here presented. The concept of exergy is used in order to have a direct measure of efficiency. Exergy balance diagrams are shown and effective use of available work inside the engine components is analyzed. The definition of propulsive and thermal efficiency is revisited and sensitivity analysis of performance indexes is done. The calculation of exergy is performed by means of the most common thermodynamic tables.
