Abstract

Il volume è l’esito scientifico di una serie di indagini di scavo su Piazza Savoia e nell’area del Castello in Susa, eseguiti tra il 2002 e il 2009 sotto la direzione dalla Soprintendenza Archeologica del Piemonte e sull’Arco augusteo avviati in occasione del bimillenario delle morte di Augusto. Due le sezioni di rilievi di fotogrammetria digitale e laser scanning: uno all’Arco eseguito da Fabio Remondino della Fondazione Bruno Kessler di Trento ed uno dal Team DIRECT del Politecnico di Torino, coordinato dalla prof.ssa Antonia Spanò sull’area archeologica. Sono poi state realizzate da Alberto Agostoni e Maurizio Aceto immagini a luce radente e ultravioletta e una campionatura con micro prelievi per la ricerca di tracce di colore e alcuni rilievi sulle grappe metalliche, a cura di Alessandro Borghi e Angelo Agostino. Le analisi scientifiche sono state accompagnate da relazioni di natura storica, artistica e archeologica con la collaborazione dell'Università degli Studi di Torino e del Piemonte Orientale «Amedeo Avogadro», del Politecnico e con le Università italiane di Pisa, Roma «La Sapienza», Pavia e Milano. Tutto ciò fa di questo un volume di alto valore storico-scientifico.
