Green Building y Green Washing

Abstract

Oggi come oggi di architettura sostenibile, green architecture in inglese, si parla molto. Usando l’attributo “sostenibile” si esprime attenzione alle problematiche ambientali ma soprattutto si fornisce al prodotto edilizio un valore aggiunto, grazie alla crescente sensibilità di utenti, investitori, amministrazioni pubbliche. Bisogna però porre attenzione perché l’attributo non dimostrato e abusato porta disinformazione (green washing). Una garanzia di sostenibilità della costruzione (green building) è il ricorso a protocolli nazionali o internazionali gestiti da enti terzi: essi non conducono automaticamente alla realizzazione di una buona architettura ma sostanziano il progetto edilizio, guidandolo nella scelta di strategie progettuali appropriate e di tecnologie edilizie e impiantistiche orientate alla sostenibilità. È opinione degli Autori che per l’edificio la sostenibilità non deve essere intesa come una virtù ostentata (visibile), quanto piuttosto come una virtù nascosta (invisibile) che si manifesta in tutto il suo valore nel corso della vita del costruito.
