Food production can be good and healthy, but not only the farming and processing phases have to be sustainable: often there are factors which are not taken into consideration because they seem obvious, but as a matter of facts the environmental costs are hidden everywhere. Thinking that only in Italy we are producing around 12 million tons of waste per year arising from packaging and that the 2/3 coming from the agro-food field, the decision to consider all the aspect of the whole chain (from seeds to human consumption), is even more to confirm. Within this renewed and hoped attention to environmental needs, also packaging will come from green production systems. The food packaging of the future will be evolved, virtuous, fully sustainable (environmentally, socially and ethically speaking) and will be the proposer of ethical consumption and environmental protection.
