Abstract

Questo libro, frutto delle attività seminariali svolte dalla Scuola di Alta Formazione in Filosofia ed Etologia Umana, dell'Università di Cassino (Dipartimento di Lettere e Filosofia), durante il corso 2011, affronta cinque problematiche chiave dell’etica contemporanea: il dibattito sulle origini dei vincoli morali e sulla natura innata o appresa di due antichi modelli comportamentali: l’“altruismo” e l’“egoismo”; la polarità tra cooperazione e conflitto, riscontrabile non solo nelle società umane ma in tutti i raggruppamenti stabili di mammiferi e uccelli sociali; lo studio delle forme di condizionamento e manipolazione delle menti umane, che le nuove tecnologie consentono, e la critica dei loro effetti; i rapporti interspecifici come problema etico, con un confronto a quattro voci su ragioni e contraddizioni delle etiche “animaliste”; gli intrecci tra studio scientifico delle “società egualitarie”, esistite ed esistenti, e immaginario sociale nella cultura contemporanea. Il testo si rivolge a studenti, studiosi e cultori di diversi ambiti del sapere, portando, nel suo piccolo, testimonianza di un metodo che mira a disarticolare e superare la bipartizione tra scienze umane e naturali, costruendo reti di confronto tra studiosi di diversa formazione, mossi dal comune interesse per le tematiche comportamentali.
