Innesti di arte contemporanea all'opera

Abstract

Solitamente affidata agli specialisti del settore, la scenografia teatrale dell’opera lirica diventa oggetto d’interesse di alcuni dei massimi artisti contemporanei presso il Teatro San Carlo di Napoli in un periodo piuttosto ampio che coinvolge diverse stagioni teatrali. Il saggio, nel presentare i lavori di Mimmo Paladino per il Tancredi, Giulio Paolini per Die Walkure e Anselm Kiefer per Elektra, analizza i motivi per cui proprio nel capoluogo partenopeo si verifica questo intreccio tra gli artisti e il teatro rintracciando in una più ampia operazione di politica culturale della città l’origine di queste straordinarie messe in scena. Nel saggio viene poi messo in luce il diverso modo di lavorare con lo spazio teatrale tra architetti e artisti a partire dal confronto per la messa in scena dell’Elektra di Aldo Rossi e quella di Anselm Kiefer. Obiettivo del saggio è indagare reciprocità e differenze che artisti e architetti apportano dai loro mestieri alla tecnica scenografica in un costante dialogo tra tradizione e innovazione.
