Abstract

Dopo una panoramica generale sulla presenza del tema della guerra civile nella narrativa galega, l’articolo propone alcune considerazioni sul breve romanzo "Os mortos daquel verán" di Carlos Casares, edito nel 1987 e tradotto in spagnolo dall’autore nello stesso anno. In particolar modo si porrà l’attenzione sull’originale struttura dell’opera, costituita dai rapporti redatti in un artificioso linguaggio forense da un funzionario di polizia nell’estate del 1936, sulla sua tematica chiave (le dicerie e le maldicenze che dilaniano la società semirurale di una piccola cittadina galega) e sulla voce narrante, tutt’altro che neutrale e distaccata come si vorrebbe in apparenza. Il romanzo, lontano da registri memorialistici o autobiografici, mette in evidenza la fallacia di qualsiasi verità che si presenti come assoluta, unitaria e totalizzante: caduto ogni affanno di oggettività e imparzialità, la memoria storica si fa intima e soggettiva, frutto di un mosaico di memorie particolari che il lettore è chiamato a ricomporre e a giudicare.
