Etica ambientale e biocentrismo. La proposta teorica di Paul W. Taylor

Abstract

Il principale obiettivo di questo articolo è dimostrare come l’etica biocentrica del rispetto per la natura di Paul W. Taylor supporti e auspichi l’integrazione tra l'etica antropocentrica e quella non-antropocentrica. Per comprendere se e come il rispetto per tutte le forme di vita possa conciliarsi con il rispetto tra esseri umani, si esploreranno di seguito le ragioni per cui e il senso in cui il biocentrismo è non-antropocentrico, si chiariranno i suoi presupposti teorici e si illustreranno i pilastri della teoria morale biocentrica, così per come è stata proposta da Taylor. Dopo avere approfondito e discusso aspetti epistemologici, assiologici e normativi dell’etica biocentrica, si mostrerà come essa possa essere una proposta teorica complementare a quella human-centered, la cui rivalutazione potrebbe offrire un importante contributo nel riabilitare la percezione dell’etica ambientale all’interno del dibattito morale contemporaneo.
