Il saggio esamina alcuni episodi artistici legati alla presenza bizantina nel territorio del Cilento. Un caso fortemetne rilevante appare il Giudizio Universale raffigurato sulla parete absidale dell'oratorio annesso al Battistero di San Giovanni in Fonte tra Sala Consilina e Padula.
