F.D.E. Schleiermacher tra criticismo e idealismo (1787-1803)

Abstract

"F.D.E. Schleiermacher between Criticism and Idealism (1787-1803)" reviews and critically assesses the development of Friedrich Schleiermacher’s ethical thinking. The study traces back his philosophy to the early writings, spanning from the Jugendschriften (1787-1796) to his first properly systematic essay, the Grundlinien einer Kritik der bisherigen Sittenlehre (1803). The theoretical focus is the interrelation of three different spheres of spiritual life in the early Schleiermacher: ethics, sociality and religion. Building on these premises, the PhD thesis not only examines Schleiermacher's early work with a view to its later developments, but it also contextualises it in relation to 18th- and 19th-century philosophical movements, with particular attention to such authors as Kant, Fichte, Jacobi, Reinhold and Schlegel. /// "F.D.E.
