Abstract

Secondo la definizione fornita dalla International Ergonomics Association, l'ergonomia è la disciplina scientifica che si occupa dell'interazione tra l'individuo e gli altri elementi di un sistema e l'ergonomo è il professionista che applica teorie, principi, dati e metodi di progettazione alfine di ottimizzare il benessere dell'individuo e la prestazione dell'intero sistema. Con l'espressione "ergonomia cognitiva" viene posto l'accento sugli aspetti cognitivi di questa interazione, vale a dire il modo in cui l'utente di una tecnologia percepisce, presta attenzione, decide e programma le sue azioni al fine di raggiungere un obiettivo. Naturalmente, la progettazione di dispositivi tecnologici non può prescindere dall'analisi di questi processi. Le conoscenze sviluppate nell'ambito dell'ergonomia cognitiva consentono, difatti, di sviluppare sistemi usabili, in grado di ridurre il carico di lavoro imposto all'utente e la probabilità di commettere errori. Il volume affronta le tematiche tipicamente oggetto di studio degli ergonomi di formazione cognitiva, approfondendo sia gli aspetti teorici sia quelli procedurali.
