Abstract

L'attività epistolografica di Atanasio, vescovo di Alessandria tra il 328 e il 373 EC, è caratterizzata da un uso esclusivamente ecclesiale e pastorale di questo mezzo di comunicazione: non abbiamo di lui lettere private. Accanto alle lettere festali, ha promosso l'utilizzo pastorale e dogmatico delle lettere, per fondare su salde basi la sua chiesa. Anche alcune sue opere più impegnative hanno la forma di lettera.
