I santuari di Muzio e Moretti in Terra Santa

Abstract

Il testo esplora il rapporto tra Giovanni Muzio e Luigi Moretti con i luoghi della Terra Santa, evidenziando come entrambi abbiano utilizzato questi spazi come terreno di ricerca per l'architettura sacra, oltre i confini nazionali. Muzio, incaricato della Basilica dell’Annunciazione a Nazareth nel 1958, sviluppa un progetto che integra i livelli archeologici e simbolici del sito, creando una struttura che rappresenta l’universalità della Chiesa. Moretti, invece, nel 1967 progetta il Santuario del Primato di San Pietro a Tagbha, un’opera simbolica e aperta, immersa nella natura, che si confronta con i temi della preghiera e del passaggio spirituale, anche se non realizzata a causa dei conflitti nella regione. Entrambi i progetti riflettono un’interpretazione personale del sacro attraverso forme architettoniche significative.
