Abstract

Percorsi di etnomusicologia ripercorre i molteplici itinerari di questa disciplina che, fin dai suoi esordi alla fine del XIX secolo, ha visto un susseguirsi di correnti teoriche-metodologiche rivolte a conoscere le diverse culture musicali. L’affascinante viaggio nella storia della disciplina permetterà di guardare ai modi in cui i ricercatori, nel corso del tempo, si sono avvicinati a tali culture, le hanno analizzate e interpretate avanzando interessanti e multiformi proposte ermeneutiche. Le attuali sfide del mondo contemporaneo, sempre più globalizzato e condizionato da asimmetrie sociali, economiche e culturali, hanno favorito, come si vedrà nel capitolo 14 di Percorsi di etnomusicologia, una forte espansione dell’oggetto di studio, fatto che ha reso necessario per gli etnomusicologi, ripensare il proprio lavoro, le metodologie di ricerca e i criteri interpretativi, spesso elaborati attraverso il dialogo con i protagonisti delle comunità studiate.
