Abstract

Il volume analizza tutti quei fenomeni che, sulla spinta della crescita demografica proiettano sempre più tra XI e XII secolo l'Europa continentale verso il Mediterraneo e favoriscono dinamiche di crescita delle realtà urbane, economiche e socio-culturali dell'area mediterranea. In particolare lo sviluppo delle città marinare italiane, l'evoluzione delle crociate, l'espansione cristiana nella penisola iberica e la nascita degli ordini cavallereschi.
