This article discusses a recently published book that delves into a collection of comic-grotesque films with a medieval theme produced between the 1960s and 1970s. It represents the first research effort to explore a previously overlooked film genre. The author of the book employs appropriate tools to comprehend the audience's reception of these films, recovering criteria inherent to historical-sociological disciplines; through meticulous examination of all available documentation, the author successfully introduces a new chronological perspective, contextualizing a significant cultural, social, and historical phenomenon.
