La circuitazione domestica di un’attrice internazionale: in tournée con Adelaide Ristori nell’estate-autunno 1860

Abstract

Questo intervento prende in esame la tournée condotta dalla Drammatica Compagnia Italiana, diretta da Adelaide Ristori e dal marito Giuliano Capranica, nell’Italia settentrionale e centrale dal 20 agosto al 28 novembre 1860. Fondato sulla ricca documentazione conservata al Museo Biblioteca dell’Attore di Genova, l’articolo ripercorre le strategie attraverso cui i Capranica progettarono, organizzarono e realizzarono la tournée, con l’obiettivo anzitutto di offrire una ricostruzione dettagliata del ‘giro’. Particolarmente significativa è la possibilità di riflettere su viaggi, incassi e spese, fino a ricavare il risultato economico della tournée, grazie alla eccezionale presenza nel Fondo di due libri di conti. Sul piano più generale, l’articolo mira a integrare nelle indagini sulla circuitazione la problematica economica, una dimensione tanto trascurata negli studi, quanto cruciale per la produzione teatrale del XIX secolo – e notoriamente centrale nelle decisioni della coppia Ristori-Capranica.
