Abstract

The Journals (Mecmualar) are one of the cornerstones of ancient Turkishliterature. Our study examines one of the journals that is of such importance, the poemjournal, which is registered in the Atatürk Library Muallim Cevdet Manuscripts with thenumber O.0103.The majority of the poets in the journal lived in the 16th century. There are 320poems in total most of which are by Umîdî, Sāʽî, ʽAzîzî and Misālî'. Although themiddle part of the journal is predominantly ghazal, other verse forms such as `kaside`(haşiye), history and `müfred` have been used. In the rectangular part of the journal, there are very large amounts of `kaside`. The central part and the rectangular sectionform a whole in itself. For this reason, while the text part of the magazine was prepared, firstly the middle part was completely read and then the poems in the `derkenar` sectionwere handled. In this study, the poems that are found both in the poets' `divan` and in thejournals were compared and differences that were found were indicated in the footnotes. In addition, poems that were present in the journals but did not appear in the `divan` ordid not have any `divan`, were scanned in academic studies such as articles and thesesand any differences found were mentioned in the footnotes. Tables which include poets, poems, meters and verse forms, were prepared.
