In this work, one of the most important elements of Ottoman ilmiye institution was the cases which discussed in the presence of the Sheikh Al-İslam has been studied with the primary sources. These records were known as ''Huzur Murafaası''. The registered defter numbered 051 which studied in this work is available in the Meşihat archives. The parts of the defter which includes the Sheik al-Islam period of Hasan Hayrullah Efendi (38A, 73A) was trascripted. The first case in the defter was dated in November 21, 1867 and the last one is April 24, 1869. There were 58 cases in 18 months. That means roughly there were three cases per month. It could be said that in the light of the transcription of this defter a detailed research has been done for the contents of the cases and the officers in the court.
Bu çalışmada birinci el kaynaklar ele alınarak Osmanlı ilmiye teşkilatının en önemli unsurlarından biri olan Şeyhülislamın huzurunda görülen davaların kaydedildiği bir defter ele alınmıştır. Söz konusu defterlere `Huzur Murafaası` adı verilmektedir. Bu çalışmaya konu olan defter ise 051 kayıt numarası ile Meşihat Arşivi'nde bulunmaktadır. Hasan Hayrullah Efendi kadıaskerliği zamanına ait olan kısmının (vr. 38a-73a) transkripsiyonu yapılmıştır. Defterdeki davaların ilki 21 Kasım 1867, sonuncusu ise 24 Nisan 1869 tarihlidir. 18 ayda 58 dava görülmüştür. Bu da yaklaşık ayda 3 dâvâ'ya tekabül eder. Bu defterin transkripsiyonu ışığında; görülen davaların içerikleri, mahkemede bulunan görevliler vb. konular ele alınarak detaylı bir araştırma yapılmıştır.
