Cuidar la dignidad

Abstract

The issue of dignity is fundamental when addressing the issue of caring for the elderly. The human being is dedicated to the noble art of caring because the one who receives our care possesses what we call dignity. To address the question, it is intended to answer the following questions: Why speak of dignity in bioethics? Why talk about dignity when talking about care? What is dignity? Who is said to be worthy of? What current difficulties do we find when talking about the care of dignity? How is dignity cared for? These questions are answered with the help of philosophy, especially Thomas Aquinas, Kant and Zubiri, and with the modern theory of care by Chochinov
