La vida común en una casa religiosa es un elemento esencial que define la vida religiosa. El código recuerda a los religiosos la obligación de residir en su propia casa religiosa observando la vida común. Al tiempo prevé y regula la posibilidad de residir fuera de la propia casa. Se describe la autoridad que concede este permiso, los requisitos para su concesión, las causas, los modos como cesa, por último, los efectos tanto de la ausencia legítima como ilegítima.
The common life in a religious house is an essential element that defines the religious life. The code reminds religious to reside in their own religious house observing common life. At the same time, it regulates the possibility of residing outside the home. It describes the authority that grants this permit, the requirements for granting it, the causes, the ways in which, and finally, the effects of both legitimate and illegitimate absence.
