Postmodernmizmde ahlak

Authors: Marım, Yüksel;
Abstract

ABSTRACT In this study, the reflections of modernism and post-modernism on the morals are investigated in order to characterize our rapidly changing century in the light of Zymunt Bauman's studies. The study consists of three sections. In the first section, the modernism and post-modernism are analyzed conceptually, etymologically, and historically. In the second section, the basic concepts of morals and its historical development are evaluated in the light of ideas of philosophers in different philosophic poles covering time period starting from Socrates to Kant. In the last section, the ideas of Zygmunt Bauman regarding with the influence of society, regulations related to public areas, technology and bureaucracy on the moral are investigated. Later it is summarized that Zygmunt Bauman's ideas stating that human being is morally obscure and this obscurity has been increased with the beginning society. It is also summarized that there is no solution for this obscurity and thus it is observed that the ethic is in crisis. Since the post-modern morality has no ethic code, the morals can not be universal and therefore the relations among people are summarized as `side to side`, `being with`, and `being for`. The main focus of this study is the evaluation of morals in the perspective of post-modernism. Yüksel MARIM
