Abstract

Aizanoi ancient city is located in the southwest of Kütahya, in the district of Çavdarhisar today. The city is located in Phyrgia Region. The history of the city, which goes back to the 3rd millennium BC, was used in the Byzantine and even Ottoman periods, even today. Currently, there is a partial settlement in the ancient city. The city, which lived its brightest period in the 2nd century AD, provided great historical and sociological information with the necropolis excavations. The thymiaterion finds examined within the scope of the thesis were discovered during the aforementioned necropolis excavations. Detailed information was provided on both the diversity of finds in the necropolises and the thymiaterion form. The artifacts were identified from the Northern Necropolis, Çavdarhisar Modern Cemetery and Maltepe Local Rescue Excavation areas in the city. In addition to the history of the city, information about the history of the thymiaterion pottery is given in the thesis and the typology of the thymiaterion potteries in the city was deduced, a chronology was created and the artifacts were cataloged. The potteries were dated according to the graves and grave finds.
