Hellenistik Dönem Kapadokya Krallığı`nın siyasi tarihi

Abstract

Bu tez çalışmasında, Kapadokya'nın Perslerden Romalılara kadar geçen dönemde yaşadığı siyasi olaylar bir bütün olarak anlatılmaktadır. Tabal Krallığı ile başlayan siyasi otorite boşluğu ve toplumsal birlik sorunu Perslerin satraplık sistemi ile giderilmeye çalışılmıştır. Kapadokya, öncelikle Pers egemenliği ile birlikte farklı bir kültürle tanışarak Pers hegemonyasına girmiştir. Daha sonra Perslerin önemli bir satraplığı haline getirilen Kapadokya, bu sayede kültürel bir kimlik kazanmıştır. Hellenistik Dönem'den itibaren Kapadokya'da Makedonyalı İskender'in egemenliği başlamış; ancak bu egemenlik İskender'in ölümünden sonra komutanları arasındaki mücadeleler neticesinde el değiştirerek Seleukoslar'a geçmiştir. III. Ariarathes, Seleukoslar ile akrabalık bağı kurarak M. Ö. 255 yılında bağımsızlığını ilan etmiş ve Kapadokya Krallığı'nı kurmuştur. Bu gelişmelerden sonra Kapadokya VI. Mithridates'in Küçük Asya'da yarattığı krize ev sahipliği yapmıştır. Bu olay başlarda Küçük Asya'nın hakim gücü Roma'nın dikkatini çekmiş; ancak herhangi bir müdahalede bulunmamıştır. Bu durumu değerlendiren VI. Mithridates, sürekli olarak Kapadokya Krallığı tahtına müdahale ederek I. Ariobarzanes'i tahtından kovmuştur. Bunun üzerine Kapadokya halkı Roma Senatosu'na şikayetini bildirmiştir. Roma, Küçük Asya'da uyguladığı status quo sistemi gereği duruma çok geçmeden müdahalesini yapmıştır; ancak VI. Mithridates'in eylemlerinin ardı arkası kesilmeyince iki güç arasında merkezi Kapadokya olmak üzere Mithridates-Roma Savaşları yapılmıştır. Roma'ya, bu savaşlar sırasında destek veren Kapadokya Krallığı, Pompeius tarafından toprak verilerek ödüllendirilmiş ve sonrasında yaşanan gelişmeler neticesinde, Tiberius'un egemenlik döneminde, Kapadokya M. In this study the whole political events which had emerged during the period from Persian to Roman. The political instability which had started in the age of Tabal Monarchy and the troublesomes about social unity had tried to be retrenched by satraplık system of Persian. Cappadocia had gained ascendance over Persian by being aware of a new culture which belonged to Persian. Afterward, Cappadocia, which had become a essential satraplık of Persian gain a cultural identity. Hellenistic Period, The hegemony of Alexander from Macedonian had started and expanded, yet the hegemony was obtained by Seleukos by taking over as a result of the warfares between the commandants after Alexander had gone. III. Ariarathes, had declared his independence by establishing a relation with Seleukos in BC. 255 and founded Cappadocia Monarchy. After the following, Cappadocia had became the host town of the crisis which was caused by VI. Mithridates in Minos Asia, hence any armed intervention didn't happened. VI. Mithridates who considered in this situation, had consistly threated to the throne of Cappadocia Monarchy and held off I. Ariobarzane. Therefore, The public of Cappadocia had brought a complaint to Roman senate's notice and Roman interfered in this action as soon as possible by using status quo system which was applied in Minor Asia. However, due to the endless conflictions of VI. Mithridates, The war between Mithridates and Roman had been broken out. The Cappadocia Monarchy who supported to Roman during the following wars had been awarded by being given ground by Pompeius and after the all resulted happened, Cappadocia had been arranged as a province connected to Roman Empire in AD. 17 during the reign of Tiberius.Keywords: Hellenistic, Period, Cappadocia, History, Political, Kingdom.
