Toprak akifer arıtma sistemlerinde toprak tiplerinin arıtma verimine etkisi

Abstract

The use of water and the decrease in water resources in the world has become an issue that needs to be considered as the demand for clean water resources is increasing day by day and the existing resources are under the threat of pollution. Within the scope of the thesis, the treatment efficiency of two different soil types were compared based on the wastewater quality changes that occurred during the filtration of secondary treated wastewater from Soil Aquifer Treatment System which is a natural treatment method. Two columns of 100 cm length and 20 cm inner diameter were prepared for filtration and collection of wastewater and the system was operated in 3 days wet/4 days dry cycle. Experimental studies were carried out for 10 weeks using clay loamy soil andloamy soil types obtained from research area of Aydın Adnan Menderes University Faculty of Agriculture and secondary treated wastewater from Denizli Central Wastewater Treatment Plant. Temperature, pH, electrical conductivity, dissolved oxygen, total organic carbon, chemical oxygen demand, total nitrogen and total phosphate were analyzed in water samples taken from depths of 10, 30,55, 75 cm. As a result of the studies, it was determined that clay loamy soil was more effective in removing both organic matter and nutrients than loamy soil.
