İbn Sînâ felsefesinde varlık ve mahiyet kavramları

Essence and existence consepts in Avicenna’s thought
Authors: Göz, Kemal;

İbn Sînâ felsefesinde varlık ve mahiyet kavramları

Abstract

The basis of the philosophy of existence also constitutes the concepts of being and essence. Being is something that is grasped without the need for any proofing process. The concept of nature is a philosophical concept that is used to mean the essence of an being and its meaning to it. The relationship between the entity and the essence, which is one of the most important problems of the Ibn Sînâ's philosophy, will be shaped over the following questions. Is the thing that called essence really different that existence? Is the distinction between those two conceptual one? Or does the essence represent(s) another form of the existence? In the framework of the answers given to these questions, Avicenna appears to have different views on these subjects in different periods and in different works. These different views were evaluated considering his works.
