Abstract

Modern Türk Edebiyatında yapmış olduğu çalışmalar ve sağlamış olduğu katkılar ile ön plana çıkan Orhan Okay, “Edebiyat ve Edebî Eser Üzerine” adlı kitabında edebiyat, edebiyat tarihi, edebî eser, biyografik araştırmalara dair düşünce ve tespitlerine yer vermiştir. Eser, Okay’ın 1988- 2007 yılları arasında yazdığı 32 makalenin (7si bildiri) tek kitapta bir araya getirdiği çalışmalardan oluşur. Her makalenin sonunda makale ile ilgili künye bilgiler ve kaynakça verilmiştir. Okay’ın yazdığı makalelerden oluşan bu eserde Fatih, İstanbul gibi mekan tasvirlerinin yanı sıra edebiyatın genel problemleri, modern Türk edebiyatı ile ilgili tespitler, edebiyat tarihinin sınıflama meselesi, Ahmet Haşim, Ahmed Midhat Efendi, Asaf Halet Çelebi, Beşir Fuad, Fuzuli, Şeyh Galib, Mehmet Kaplan, Namık Kemal, Samiha Ayverdi, Tevfik Fikret, Yakup Kadri, Yahya Kemal gibi şahsiyetler ile ilgili telakki ve değerlendirmeleri içerir.
