Abstract

Osmanlı Devleti’nin gelirleri arasında önemli bir yer tutan cizye, 19. yüzyılda bazı değişikliklere uğramasına rağmen, 1855 yılına kadar aynı isimle varlığını devam ettirmiştir. Osmanlı arşiv belgeleri arasında cizye defterleri, ait olduğu dönem ve bölge açısından önemli bilgiler sunan kayıtlardır. Cizre Sancağı’na ait 375 numaralı Cizye Defteri, bu açıdan değerlendirildiğinde, ait olduğu dönemle ilgili sosyal ve iktisadi açıdan önemli bilgileri ihtiva etmektedir
