Lykaonia bölgesi tarihi coğrafyası ve Lykaonia adının kökeni üzerine değerlendirme

Abstract

Anatolia, which is one of the oldest centers of civilization “cradle of civilizations” due to its geopolitical location, has hosted different religions and cultures throughout history and has had a “cultural bridge” function. Since the third millennium B.C., many tribes of different origins have lived together. It was seen that many new peoples and new cultures were in mutual interaction at that time. Among them, Lukkuwaniya, which is considered to be within the borders of Lukka Country and Central Anatolia, which is one of the Luwian ancestors of the Anatolian people and living in the southern parts of Central Anatolia, as a localization. In the second millenium B.C., the Lykaonian people, who would take the name Lykaonia, took the stage. From the first millennium B.C., The Assyrian Trade Colonies period, the name Lykaonia mentioned in Assyrian sources is shown in the borders of Arzawa and Hittite. After the Iron Age, during the Hellenistic and Roman dominations, the region, which was shown within different borders, was evaluated as Iconium-centered. The process given together and chronologically from ancient times to the present has been evaluated according to the end of the IV th. Century A.D. This study is derived from the master's thesis prepared by me and has been re-evaluated considering the recent publications.
