Abstract

Bu makalede, Türkçenin ilk yazılı metinlerinden bugüne değin takip edilen adak “ayak” sözünün, günümüz Türk yazı dillerinden Kuzey-Doğu grubu, Sayan Türkçesi alt grubunda yer alan Tuvacada “ayak” anlamından aşama aşama uzaklaşarak “alt, aşağı” anlamlarının temel anlama dönüşüm süreci ele alınmıştır. Eski anlamla ilgili olabilecek kullanımların ve yeni anlamın oluşturduğu kavram alanı örnek cümlelerle tanıklanmış; ayrıca kelimede, anlam değişiminin hangi türlerine rastlandığı üzerinde durulmuştur. Sözcüğün bağımlı birim hâline gelerek gramerleşmesi de tarihî delillerle örneklendirilmiştir. Bununla birlikte, kelimenin çokanlamlılığı, eşsesliliği gibi konularla ilgili olarak tarihsel boyutun, etimolojinin önemli olduğu vurgulanmış ve etimolojik sözlüklerde kelimenin kökeniyle ilgili bilgiler de makalenin bünyesine dâhil edilmiştir.

This Article discusses the process of converting the meaning of the word adak in Tuvan (mean. foot), which was followed up from the first written texts of Turkish to the present. The uses related to the old meaning and the consept areas formed by new meaning have been witnessed with sample sentences. In addition, the types of meaning changes in the word have been discussed. The grammaticalisation of the word as a dependent unit is also exemplified by historical evidence. It is emphasized that historical dimension and etymology are important for the subjects such as polysemy, homonymy; therefore information about the origin of the word is included in this Article.
