Sinemanın ilk yıllarına dayanan spor ve sinema ilişkisini inceleyen çalışmalarakademik literatürde önemli bir yer tutmaktadır. Türkiye sinemasında spor sözkonusu olduğunda ise konuyla ilgili kapsamlı araştırmalara az rastlanmaktadır. Buçalışmanın amacı; sporun, Türkiye sinemasındaki yerini ve önemini ortayakoymaktır. Bu kapsamda, Türkiye’de çekilmiş spor temalı filmlerin niceliği, bufilmlerin sporu hangi bağlamda konu edindikleri ve ülkedeki akademik çevrelerin bufilmlere nasıl tepki verdiği araştırılmıştır. Araştırmanın yöntemini, nitel araştırmayaklaşımının bir türü olan doküman incelemesi oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmaneticesinde, Türkiye sinemasında toplamda 41 spor temalı filme rastlanmıştır. Bufilmlerin çoğunluğunu futbol güreş ve dövüş sporları oluşturmaktadır. Filmlerde ençok dikkat çeken unsur ise birçok yabancı spor filminin aksine propaganda amacıtaşımamaları ve ülke sporundaki başarıları konu edinmemeleridir. Filmlerin sayısınabakıldığında, sporun, Türkiye sinemasında önemli bir yer tutmadığı anlaşılmaktadır.Benzer şekilde, bu filmlere dair akademik incelemelerin sayısı da yok denecek kadarazdır. Araştırma neticesinde, gelecekteki araştırmalarda spor temalı filmlere dahafazla yer verilmesi önerilmektedir. Yapılacak incelemelerin, başta sporda sosyalalanlar olmak üzere, Türkiye’deki diğer disiplinlere de katkı sağlayacağı ve zengintartışmalara zemin hazırlayacağı öngörülmektedir. 

Relationship between cinema and sports traces back to the early years of cinema.The studies dealing with this relationship and sport films are of great importance in literature as regards. As for the sports in Turkish cinema, there are not inclusive andsatisfying research papers examining the issue. The purpose of this study is todemonstrate the place and importance of sports in Turkish cinema. To this end,document analysis procedure which is a form of qualitative research was used forthe study. Within this scope, it has been investigated that how many sport themedfilms there are in Turkey; and in what context they include the sport themes; and towhat extent the academics of Turkey have interests in them. As a result, 41 sportthemed films were identified and most of them include football, wrestling, andmartial arts. One of the attention-grabbing facts about the films is that as opposed tothe many foreign films, they have not been used as a tool for propaganda and theydo not include successes of Turkey in sports. Moreover, the numbers and the qualityof the films indicate that sport and sport themed films are not of great importance inTurkish cinema. Besides, the academic studies dealing with the issue are only a few.In conclusion, it is recommended that the sport themed films in Turkey be examinedin terms of many aspects, which will contribute to the social studies in sport sciencesand will pave the way for new studies in Turkey.
