In this study, the effects of The Book of Dede Korkut's narratives and characters on different musicians and their works were discussed with reference to "Nazar Eyle" which words and music belongs to Bari{dotless}ş Manço (1943-1999), "Dede Korkut" which words belongs to Niyazi Yi{dotless}ldi{dotless}ri{dotless}m Gençosmanoglu (1929-1992) and music to Esat Kabakli{dotless} (1954-), also "Dedem Korkut" which words and music belongs to Musa Eroglu (1944-) and "Dede Korkut" which verses are from The Book of Dede Korkut and are set to music by Gökhan Ki{dotless}rdar. The matter of how narratives and characters from the book at issue influenced on the contemporary musicians was evaluated simultaneously considering creator and his work. First of all creators (poet or composer), created the works at issue, have been introduced in general terms. Also, it was determined what aspect of tribes contemporary artists emphasized, which characters they accented in their music works influenced by The Book of Dede Korkut and how the artists made use of The Book of Dede Korkut, what characteristics of Korkut Ata they treated in the works which they created with influence of the figure of Dede Korkut. In this context, in the analyze first of all it was given a short information about the transcripts of The Book of Dede Korkut and narratives in the book; after that it was done a text-context based analyze of the works of the artists in question in chronological order. Also by performing their works how artists assume an attitude, make preliminary preparation in order to accustom audience for their works and compose music with which musical instruments have been inspected in this essay.
