Família, adolescência e os estilos parentais

Abstract

Concerning the social programs for adolescents in situation of high social vulnerability in the Assis city, specifically under parent’s orientation, several matters involving family relationship have come up as the result of the weakness of parental authority. A transformation of values seems to happen currently, in which parents occupy their children’s placement and vice-versa, what can cause a misleading on parent’s attitudes. For the agreement of the relationship between parents and children, that is, how the parents are behaving towards their children, new researches on parental styles have been achieved recently. From this perspective and the adolescents´view, to identify the particular parental styles of the selected families for study is proposed since then, as the main goal of the current research. For this reason, 62 adolescents between 12 and 17 years old and their respective families, both male and female, were focused on. The research tools used on such study held a scale of demandingness and responsiveness [(TEIXEIRA, M.A.P., BARDAGI, M.P. E GOMES, W.B. (2004)] that was applied in a comprehensive way on adolescents and analysis of documents belonging to such families´ file in order to characterize them. The main results showed that the families are normally large with several structures and the adolescents noticed their parents more authoritative than negligent.
