Abstract

One hundred and twenty-six weaned piglets with 21 days of age (6.11 kg ± 0,42) were used. A completely randomized block design was used, with six treatments (Diets with 100% inclusion of inorganic microminerals premix (IMP) – 3.00 kg/T; diets with 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% or 100% of inclusion of organic microminerals premix (OMP), equivalent to 0; 0.75; 1.50; 2.25 or 3.00 kg/T, respectively), seven replicates and three animals per plot. In the total experimental period (21 to 63 days old), increasing OMP in diets led to a quadratic effect on the daily weight gain (DWG), feed conversion (FC), Hematocrit percentage (Ht), Hemoglobin (Hb), Mean corpuscular hemoglobin (MCH), Mean corpuscular volume (MCV) and Platelets (Pq). Comparing IMS means with those of the other treatments, the animals fed diets with no microminerals premix showed lower DWG, Ht, Hb, MCH and Pq, and lower FC. Those receiving diets with 25% of OMP had lower Ht and Hb compared with those who received 100% of IMP. Considering the nursery phase, OMP can replace inorganic sources in piglets diets with 35% less supplementation resulting in ununpaired performance and low cost of feed/kg of weight gain and no changes in hematological parameters
