Abstract

This work is a proposal for Environmental Zonning where the Relief's Energy Map is main element to define environmental zones. We choose Jacareí, at East of São Paulo State, located in Paraíba Valley, as study area. Field trips and cartographic techniques were essential proceedings to recognizing 6 (six) environmental zones. A scientific and technical text and Geomorphologic maps: morphography, morphometry, slopes, horizontal dissection, vertical dissection and Relief's Energy; Land Use Map; another maps and figures found in bibliographical references, were elaborated to support planning policies and territorial management for study area. This technical support constitutes the main objective of this research. Following this objective, the method and technical means adopted were correct and efficient. The final documents and cartographic data confirmed initial hypothesis, where landform's fragility have not been considered at territorial occupation process.
