Estrutura de taxocenoses de girinos de Mata Atlântica

Abstract

Many parameters are used to research patterns that organize communities, including the number of species and their total and relative abundance, their phenotypic properties and patterns of use and partition resource. An area of study that relates phenotypic properties (morphology) and patterns of resource use (ecology) of individuals and populations is the ecomorphology, thus the differentiation in the form associated with the use of different resource has explained the species diversity in some communities. In this study, anurans species diversity of an Atlantic Forest area, not explored until now, in Bertioga, SP, was evaluated by means of tadpoles sample. For this study, we have selected eleven ponds: three marshes, five shallows and three streams. Moreover, the richness, abundance, diversity and species spatial and seasonal occurrences was determined in each pond. The upper richeness and diversity of species was found in temporary ponds with high vegetal heterogeneity. The lower richeness of species was found in stream without vegetation inside it. The majority of the species was recorded during rainy season, and the richeness were positively correlated to temperature and relative humidity. The diversity was evaluated based on the process that have organized biological communities, trying to verify contemporary and historical factors influence in the determination of species diversity. In this way, we have tested two hypothesis that do not exclude each other: 1) tadpole morphology (external and internal oral) is associated to the habitat where they live, reflecting the adaptation to the use of this resource and the contemporary factors influence; 2) tadpole morphology is associated to taxonomic proximity, reflecting the evolutional restriction and historical factors influence in the communities organization. The Principal Components and similarity ...(Complete abstract click electronic access below)
