This dissertation aims at studying the issue of Brazilian people formation on the works of Manoel Bomfim, América Latina Males de Origem (ill-treats Source in Latin America) and Sílvio Romero's História da Literatura Brasileira (Brazilian Literature History). Through these works studies, we notice the writer's worries about the issue of political, social and ethic organization of the country. This worry is emphasized in the scientific analysis of the country history in order to explain the Brazilian society and people's formation. Thereby, they privileged the Brazilian reality category understanding, constituting a field for intellectual debate, according to Pierre Bourdieu's theoretical outlook. We intend to position the Manoel Bomfim and Silvio Romero's debate through reconstitution of this field history about the Brazilian people formation.
