Adaptação, dados de precisão e evidências de validade do instrumento de motivação (task and ego orientation in sport questionnaire – teosq): um estudo nas aulas de educação física escolar

Abstract

The school universe and students' motivation are related to current research topics in the scientific field, and it couldn't be different with Physical Education in this environment. Thus, the main objective of the current study was to adapt and seek data on the accuracy and evidence of validity of the questionnaire Sport Orientation Questionnaire for Task or Ego (TEOSQ) for the Brazilian population of students from the eighth year of elementary school to the third year. high school students, testing the psychometric properties (validity, reliability and reproducibility), establishing a score for the studied instrument, thus making it possible to describe the level of motivation (task and ego orientation). Through a descriptive quantitative approach, we evaluated a sample of 339 (main study) 58 (pilot study) students of both genders, randomly chosen. After approval by the Research Ethics Committee, contact was made with the Physical Education teachers in the region of Botucatu-SP and later with the students. This study identified positive TEOSQ results that pointed to high internal consistency of the test in relation to task and ego orientation (task alpha of 0.84 and ego alpha of 0.73). The results of this research allow us to conclude that the TEOSQ has adequate psychometric properties for assessing motivation among students in the eighth and ninth grades of elementary school and the first, second and third grades of high school.
